A welcoming word from the Chairman of the Steering group
The Wenchuan earth quake in May 2008 left in our hearts horrible pictures of little children under collapsed ruins of school buildings. It is still, even 5 months later, hard to recall those first images the world received from catastrophe area without deep sorrow. The whole world sent their condolences, rescue teams, and first aid material to China.
Time has passed, and now it is time to rebuild Wenchuan. I am proud and honored to be part of our School Charity Project. This project tells of the real feelings of people at Finnish companies and their commitment to the society where we live and to the people we are working with.
I salute all Finnish companies in China and their representatives, who have taken a valuable step to be part in this project and support us to make a difference and our small part to make this world better place to live.
Thank you!
Markku T. Hyvarinen
